Real Food Heals
The most basic principle I have learned through my experience with food, obesity and my collection of health problems is that if you want to change and heal, you must use real food. Whole, unprocessed, close-to-nature food. The more natural, the better. Let all the processing happen in your kitchen, under your hands. That means there are not a lot of packages or boxes or "edible foodlike substances" in your kitchen. You have to learn a new way of doing fast, convenient foods. You have to be willing to cook. This has all been a big learning curve for me. But when I heard Dr. Terry Wahls story about a year ago, I remember thinking "I love the power of good food!" It can truly heal us.
