Pantry 101

I think one of the most confusing things about eating Paleo/Primal is how it revamps your pantry, your staples, your buying habits. I think it is the biggest stumbling blocks for many of us as we try to eat better. Here are few things that I keep in my pantry to make sure I can make a successful meal. (This idea was sparked by Sarah Fragoso's list in her cookbook Everyday Paleo. Check out her website at everydaypaleo.com.)

With these basics, you can feed yourself well!

Pantry:
  • canned coconut milk
  • coconut oil
  • coconut butter
  • olive oil
  • Real Salt
  • Real Salt Seasoning
  • almond butter
  • balsamic vinegar
  • canned wild salmon
  • canned kipper
  • canned tuna
  • sweet potatoes
  • yellow, white, red onions
  • as many spices as possible!

Fridge:
  • eggs
  • So Delicious Coconut Milk
  • heavy cream
  • butter
  • Dijon mustard
  • coconut flour
  • almond flour
  • almonds/sliced almonds
  • pecans
  • walnuts
  • hazelnuts
  • cashews
  • spinach
  • spring lettuce mix
  • romaine lettuce
  • kale
  • scallions
  • shallots
  • garlic
  • apples
  • lemons/limes
  • avocados
  • Applegate deli meats
  • as many in season vegetables/fruits as you want for the week

Freezer:
  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • green beans
  • mixed veggies

  • blackberries
  • raspberries
  • peaches
  • chicken
  • ground turkey

  • sole, tilapia, scallops, shrimp

My goal is to find and help you find as many scrumptious meals from these basic building blocks as possible.

  1. This is exactly the kind of info I need! Any ideas on how to incorporate this into food storage?
